PET THERAPY

James 1:27 - Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

THIS IS STELLA!

Presently we only have one dog we take along with us to visit but she is the best doggie in the world.  She had a rough life in the past but has had  a wonderful life since being adopted/rescued by our precious friend,  Amy.  When Amy went to be with Jesus, a few years ago,  Amy left her with her great friends, Ed & Gloria.  Now she is being loved a lot  and spoiled rotten! :-)
She is a very good, sweet dog, with a lot of love to give and a lot of personality and she is very talented as well.  She sings for us!  :-)
When this dog walks inside of the doors of the day room at the nursing home, she is transformed!  You would not believe that this timid quiet little doggie is the same dog.  She loves it!  She prances around, head held high and goes and visits everyone and lets them all pet her and hold her if they like.  She just eats up the attention!  And gives it back!  Just totally the opposite of what we had thought might happen at first since she was timid and had fear from previous traumas when she was younger.  It is just like she is where she is supposed to be and doing what she is supposed to be doing!  And she knows it!   It reminds me of myself and I am sure many of the others will agree.  I know I am transformed when I walk through those doors.  I am a different person.  I have the Holy Spirit leading and I am a totally different person, with tons of smiles and nothing on my mind except those precious little folks we are visitng and loving on them and sharing Jesus with them.  I am bolder and stand a bit taller because He is in control!  And I love them and being there with them and I thank God He  has allowed me to go and serve there.  It has changed my life and made it much better and I love it!  And to think, I did not want to go in the beginning!  Thank You God for nudging and nudging and directing my path!  Thank You!
If any of you are being nudged by God over and over, LISTEN, OBEY, and you will be so blessed!  Let HIM be in charge for a change, you won't regret it!

We used to do a good bit of Pet Therapy using all rescue animals.
This is FOHCAS, this cat was so calm and easy going, perfect for visiting the nursing homes and they loved her so much!
We are not doing much Pet Therapy right now.....
We hope to get back into that more soon!

We are hoping that our dear friend who helped us get up and running in the beginning and did the Pet Therapy is going to be able to come back and join up with us again!  She has a BIG Puppy, Great Dane named Moses that she is wanting to take along soon!   I am going to get wth her and make some plans to make this happen soon!  I pray it all works out!  They LOVE animals!
I can't wait to hang out with Moses and watch the residents faces as they love on him!!!

We don’t put anything in anyone’s way. So no one can find fault with our work for God. 4Instead, we make it clear that we serve God in every way. We serve him by holding steady. We stand firm in all kinds of trouble, hard times and suffering.
5We don’t give up when we are beaten or put in prison. When people stir up trouble in the streets, we continue to serve God. We work hard for him. We go without sleep and food. 6We remain pure. We understand completely what it means to serve God. We are patient and kind. We serve him in the power of the Holy Spirit. We serve him with true love. 7We speak the truth. We serve in the power of God. We hold the weapons of godliness in the right hand and in the left. 8We serve God in times of glory and shame. We serve him whether the news about us is bad or good. We are true to our calling.
But people treat us as if we were pretenders. 9We are known, but people treat us as if we were unknown. We are dying, but we continue to live. We are beaten, but we are not killed. 10We are sad, but we are always full of joy. We are poor, but we make many people rich. We have nothing, but we own everything.
2  Cor 6:3-10

Praise be to the LORD, for He has heard my cry for Mercy. The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him and I am helped. My heart leaps for Joy and I will give thanks to HIM in song. -Psalm 28:6-7
